I'm sure you are very familiar with the standard deck of playing cards, but did you know there is a much deeper history connected to them? The deck of cards was originally used as a calendar system before it was used for recreational game play. Prior to when our modern-day system of telling time came into creation, we relied on the lunar cycles and seasons to indicate where we were in the current year. Think about this, there are 52 cards in the deck, and 52 weeks in the year. There are 4 seasons per year, and 4 suits in the deck of cards; hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades. 13 face cards (including the joker) equate to 13 lunar cycles per year. The black cards represent nighttime, and red cards represents daytime. Lastly, when you add all the cards up by their numerical value, you get 365. This is how many days there are in the year! The mysticism and immense power the deck of cards holds is far beyond most people’s understanding. In fact, much of the card’s uses and capabilities have been kept a secret for thousands of years. The Order of the Magi, a secret society tasked with preserving the system of the cards, holds some of the first writings about the system, first appearing in print around 1893. Olney Richmond published the “Mystic Test Book” over a hundred years ago and dates the Cards of Destiny back to the period of Atlantis. The Sacred Symbols of the Ancients was published in 1947 by Edith L. Randall, a student of Olney Richmond, who’s intensive study lead to her create a more clear and understandable “bible” of the cards. This book inspired many and eventually landed into the hands of Robert Lee Camp, who worked to become the Grand Master in the Order of the Magi and bring this system of the cards to likes of many, and out of the secrecy its been kept in for so long. 

With each card equating to a calendric period in time, it is no surprise that each day of the year is attached to a certain card. The day you were born says so much about you and much of your personality, relationships, and destiny is determined by your birth and planetary ruling card. In studying this system for nearly 40 years and preforming tens of thousands of readings, I am just amazed at how revealing and accurate this system is. It is so magical, that many of its revelations have been hidden to the public for fear of misuse. However, I can say with confidence that the power that the cards hold are some of the most profound, and can explain so much about your personal tendencies, your connections to other people, and many destined events that are just “written in the cards”.
